I fell in love with Lady in Red last summer at the local garden center but she was $50 for a gallon container.

I found mine this year at Home Depot. I'm not worried about the flowers as I just like the color varigation of it. I'm not sure when it flowers. My newer arrivals from the last 2 years just started flowering within the last week or so.

LiR is probably my current favorite Hydreangea. If you just planted it this year then you might not see any flowering until next summer. Only real problem I have with it is that mine has gotten "leggy", and I would like more of a shrub shape. I need to prune it pretty heavily but never know when a good time to prune is.

And BTW mine has been flowering for the last month or so

Mine is my last one to bud up this year. Its just now getting buds on it.

So it looks like I've missed my window. Might just do it anyway and sacrifice next year.
