Although my Mophead leaves are very nice, green and "bushy" I did not get any blooms this year. In Dec. 2009, we trimmed it back to about 1 ft from the ground. Did we trim too much? Just when I thought I would just leave it alone, we are having a major heatwave 100+ and a lot of the leaves are now 'toast'! Please tell me how to salvage it! Also, I'm not so sure prunning recommendations would be same for my area (So. Calif.)as it rarely gets below 50 in the "winter" and can stay warm as late as Dec.
