First year for aftermidnight so it is pink but is a really nice
hydrangea. My mother has a Hornli but next to the house foundation so pink also. Does anywone know the parents of Aftermidnight?

A few very pretty purple blooms-was partially killed back by the vortex this winter-outstanding foliage.

My stepmother has Hornli but killed back and no blooms this year

After Midnight is purported to be part serrata and macrophylla.

It is also one of four parents to Bloomstruck :)

Who are the other 3 parents? Midnight has fantastic foliage.

I believe Bloomstruck's other parents are Penny Mac, Lady in Red, and Twist n Shout.

But since, Twist n Shout was derived from Penny Mac + Lady in Red, I'd venture to guess that After Midnight was crossed with Twist n Shout? I guess Mike Dirr would know the answer. :)

Was wondering if ES was in the parentage.

I must say the foliage is by far the best of any hydrangea I have.

Blooming very nicely this year in purple in a pot-no die back this past winter.
