My buds are green when they shouldn't be

Hello, I just returned from a 3 week vacation to find that my garden had been weeken by ??? (they were regularly watered and fertilized in my absence). Many plants had grown tall, but not flowered, and the roses which before were thriving had lost all there leaves.

Specifically, one of my hydrangeas has lots of blooms but they are GREEN (whereas these same plants are usually pink). The plants are still growing new buds, and have not been moved etc but they are colorless. I have never seen this before.

Any suggestions as to why this is, and how to fix it?

Thank you very much,

Nihal
