It is a Mac. so do not prune or you will remove next years flower buds-even if it is a rebloomer you will reduce bloom. wait til May and remove only dead wood.

Thanks very much! - so do you just leave the old, rather dried up flower heads on there to drop off (eventually, I assume) on their own as we head into fall/winter? We seem to be getting another new flower head coming in - even at this late stage.

Deadhead if you want to. Cut off gangly branches and branches that you don't want. Sure you might cut off next year's blooms with each branch cut off but then you can always propagate those if you so desire.
