I'm fairly new at growing hydrangeas, so I hope someone can answer this question. My bella anna has bloomed great in this, it's second year. (had about 20 blooms and bloomed for quite a long time). It is now sending out new growth about 8 to 10 inches down from the flower. Should I cut off the old flower? Will it bloom again or is this new growth for next year?

Deciding whether to deadhead the blooms is really up to you. There is no health-related reason to do so but in other ES Introductions, it promotes reblooming.

I cut my spent ones off after they turned brown/gray. Whether the rebloom actually happens depends on if there is enough time for flowers to form before Fall hits and the plant goes dormant again.
