Rabbits

Hello,

I am new to hydrangeas and would appreciate some advice. I live in a community that is overrun with rabbits. During some harsh winters they have eaten my holly bushes down to nubs. I have tried various repellents, but they have not seemed very effective.

My question is as follows. Are there certain hydrangea varieties that are more attractive to rabbits or are more prone to be permanently damaged by them? I live in St. Louis, Zone 6a, and am interested in a dwarf or small size plant. I really like the looks of some oakleaf varieties.

Thanks,

Alan
