My Endless Summer is covered is purplish/black spots that are killing its leaves. I pulled off all the diseased leaves and sprayed it with a fungicide called Daconil but I recently read that these spots were normal. Is that true and what are they? I read this statement in the very last paragraph on this website.

Not exactly normal, but not at all uncommon and often weather related...there are several leaf spot issues that can occur, caused by either fungi or bacteria.

Most leaf spot diseases are cosmetic and won't cause long term damage to you plant. To help prevent spread, you can remove infected leaves, clean up any that collect on the ground. Avoid overhead watering in the evening. In severe cases, a fungicide may help but only if the cause is fungal.
