| I keep reading posts about red stems on these two hydrangeas, but mine do not have red stems. The blooms on mine also have not turned pinkish/reddish. I'm beginning to wonder if I have the right plants, although I ordered them from different sources, so it seems a bit strange that both orders would be wrong.
Does your Pinky Winky or Vanilla Strawberry have red stems and reddish blooms? Both of mine were planted in the spring time and have grown from a couple of stick-looking things into healthy-looking bushes a couple feet tall and wide, with about a half-dozen blooms on each. Right now their white blooms are marred by brown splotches on them--as in being "burnt" by the several weeks of very hot (100+) temps we had. Otherwise they look good--just no signs of red on stems or flowers. Thanks for your input. Kate |

| The color "problem" with the stems would bother me but the change in color would not necessarily bother me. Weather is one of the factors that triggers color changes so your plants, not being established yet, may just be tardy this year. |

| New stems on PW are noticeably red, and then turn to brown as mature wood. |
