Do voles/moles attack hydrangeas?

We have a vole (we think) problem in the veggie garden. They've been attacking our sweet potatoes and carrots. Since our next most abundant plant in the garden is Limelight hydrangeas, I wanted to check if anyone (with a vole problem) has experience with voles pestering hydrangeas. If yes, what's an early sign of damage?

Voles could affect hydrangeas and you may notice some wilting in selected areas of the plant normally "fed" by roots that voles damaged. But, I do not have voles here (knock on wood) so I will let others that have been affected chime in.
