Mariessi Variegata questions

Hi. We bought a house mid July with a garden that was in desperate need of some attention. There is a variegated Lacecap Hydrangea in a 4ft wide bed right next to the side of the house. It was around 6ft tall with a few blue centre white edge flowers still in bloom. It had a lot of dead branches and was growing right up to the side of the house. I cut it down end July to about 1ft. It grew back vigorously but lost most of it's variegation. Height is now around 2ft. I'm planning on moving it to a better suited spot with more space. When is a good time to do this? And what can I expect regarding flowering next summer?
