What to do with my unplanted hydrangeas?

I am new in this forum. I bought more than a dozen 2.5 gallon hydrangeas this fall. But I became sick and was ordered to rest for a couple of month and didn't get the chance to plant them.

Is it too late to put them in the ground? I live in Indiana and now the temperature is mostly between 40s and 60s. The pots are still out, with some of the leaves turning slightly yellow. What can I do to help them survive winter? Would it be a good idea to bring them into my garage close to a window with sunlight?

Many thanks!
