Schizophragma Moonlight climbing question

Hi,

I have a Schizophragma Moonlight. I've had it for about 3 years. It's on an alternating board fence. The fence is 6' high x 20' long. In the long term (say 10-15 yrs), will I be able to keep it pruned to that size? There's really nowhere for it go vertically unless we somehow add height to the fence.

It is beautiful, and blooms every year. However I'm wondering if I need to gift it to a friend before it's completely established.

Hello, Deanna. You can prune it in late winter or early Spring if you want to. It is advertised to "max out" at around 20 feet but it may spread slightly more, just not that much.

Oh, good. If it's happy going ~20' horizontally and won't mind being kept shorter vertically, that would be terrific. Thank you!
