Is it normal for hydrangeas to look like this after a cold night?

Is it normal for my hydrangeas to do this and turn all burn and ugly after cold weather? I live in Louisiana, Zone 9 where the coldest it typically gets around here is in the upper 20's. Last night was 25 degrees, something that so rarely happens here. From everything I read it take a whole lot (15 degrees or lower) to kill a hydrangea. Now they are just so ugly and brown :-( They look dead to me. My plants are just babies, I just had them planted in July in my new landscaping.
