Where do you live and what kind of hydrangea is it?

More than likely you have a big leaf hydrangea (mophead/lacecap) and live in the eastern side of the states. A lot of folks had few or no blooms due to the unusual winter last year.

If you're in upstate NY the winter was too cold for mophead hydrangeas last year. But you also shouldn't prune it or you will remove the buds.

So at the end of the season i should leave the way it is? No prune no nothing ? What about the hold spike ?

You can deadhead, which is not the same as pruning. Deadheading, you are simply removing the spent flower head itself, cutting off the faded hydrangea flowers just under the flower heads but not removing the length of its stem.

You could remove those after blooming if the dried flower heads on the plant look unappealing to you over winter, or leave them until new growth begins to sprout in Spring.

Of course this year, it sounds as though you have no flower heads to deadhead.
