root veggies

Someone on this forum mentioned the ability to grow root crops hydroponically. Would someone be willing to explain to me how this is done? I have a home built ebb/flood system and several aerogardens. I'd like to plant radishes, mini carrots, onions, garlic, etc. and even potatoes if possible. I use 3' diameter children's hard plastic wading pools with home made tops for growing and aquariums as reservoirs. I heat and aerate the water in the reservoir. I have a big garage, thankfully. Any input would be welcome.

RE: root veggies

I believe you could just fill your wading pools with sand and set a timer to flood them every couple of hours. plant them up just like you would a dirt garden.
