Ultrasonic / sprinkler controler

I recently picked up an Orbit 4 station dual program electronic sprinkler timer at a yard sale for $5.00(just to have because the price was right). It is supposed to operate up to four 26 volt solenoid type water valves(not included). Has anyone tried using something similar to power one or more 24 volt single disc 20mm ultrasonic foggers?

It may not have enough current (amps) available to run a fogger, 24v solenoids generally need a small current to operate.
The price was right so its worth checking into.

Thanks for your response,The orbit transformer is rated at AC 26V 300mA and the controller utilizes a .75 amp fuse. All I know about the fogger is that it runs on AC 24v, so I ordered one. I will see how much current they draw when I get my hands on one, and keep you informed. Thanks again.

Just received the fogger, you are correct. It draws .82-.90 amps. Just a little too much for the controller fuse. Is there some kind of relay available that would allow this controller to operate 120 volt circuits. Maybe a radio shack part? I think it would be a great timer for fans, pumps, lights, heaters etc., if I could figure out a way to make it work.

Yes you can use a Solid State Relay to switch it on and off.

Here is a link that might be useful: Solid State Relay

Probably any SPDT 24v coil relay would work (available at your nearest HVAC supply house). Good luck with the project.
