A few gentle taps on the main stem releases clouds of pollen for peppers, not sure about cukes though.

Chile peppers are self-pollinating.

Good to know about the taps. Thanks Hex! I've got a system with 4 week old pepper plants in them. Doing well. Hoping to have fresh peppers from them by the end of april!

a small art paint brush works great as well.
just twirl it in each flower.

I did bell peppers indoors last year and pollinated them with a small brush like chinamon mentioned above. I had loads of peppers.

A cheap electric toothbrush on the back of the flower for about 2 seconds.

The best way I have found to Pollinate Hot Peppers is just having good air circulation. A strong wind does wonders for Hot Peppers.

For Cukes, the flowers are either Male or Female. The Female flowers are the ones that you will find at the end of what looks like a baby Cuke. The Male flowers are the ones that grow on the vine, and have no fruit or Cukes.

To hand pollinate, take a small water color paint brush and lightly wipe the pollin off the male flowers. Then wipe the pollin on the female flowers inside where the center of the flower is, and on the end.

Will the peppers start flowering on their own? How long does it take for them to get to that stage? Is a chemistry change required to stimulate this? Light cycle change?
