Best strains for hydroponics?

Posted by akbabyhuey (My Page) on

I am planning on starting some tomatoes, peppers and lettuce in my ebb & flow system, and was wondering what strains would be best suited for hydroponic production.

Thank you in advance for your input!

If you're willing to pay 35 cents a frickin' seed there are specialized hydroponics seeds that you can buy. I'm too cheap to try them (they come in $35 100 seed packs), but I CAN say that the fairly cheap Better Girl/Early Girl tomatoes grow like crazy under hydroponics and 400W MH.

anything that grows in dirt will grow equally well in hydroponics. just pick varieties you like.

Early girls are what I grew last fall. no problems there.
If you need a compact plant, look for ones that are 'determinate'.
I also grew bells with no problems (well other than my own)
