I am making this system to grow some green onions on my window sill(facing south) and wanted to know your guys thoughts. I am gonna paint the tupperware black(to avoid the algae growth) and throw 2 airstones in the NS. Basically the roots will grow down into the NS directly and the growing medium will be glass aquarium beads shown in the picture. Im using the GH flora series and wanted to see if you guys thought this setup may work. I am basically looking for the cheapest possible system to grow green onions. Your responses are appreciated. Thanks a bunch, cant wait to hear, and will post my future progress(or failures :) oh btw those red cups have been turned into net pots. Post if you want better pics of the cups. I found them on another site and thought it was a really cool idea and Ill tell you how.(if you dont already know).

| "I am making this system to grow some green onions on my window sill(facing south) and wanted to know your guys thoughts." You have a big window seal for that DWC I will be using the red cups as well for an easy transplant, but use the cheap baskets mainly and only one small air pump. Time will tell if that is enough as well. Good luck on the project. |

| It will fit easily snuggly in the window, you can't really tell from the pic but its a tiny system. |
