I am making this system to grow some green onions on my window sill(facing south) and wanted to know your guys thoughts. I am gonna paint the tupperware black(to avoid the algae growth) and throw 2 airstones in the NS. Basically the roots will grow down into the NS directly and the growing medium will be glass aquarium beads shown in the picture. Im using the GH flora series and wanted to see if you guys thought this setup may work. I am basically looking for the cheapest possible system to grow green onions. Your responses are appreciated. I found them on another site and thought it was a really cool idea and Ill tell you how.(if you dont already know).
