Lifestarter, thanks for your response. I am using chemical nutrient solution which I mix myself. The formula in PPM is N-100,P-40,K-200,Ca-100,Mg-20,S-53,Mn-0.8,Cu-0.07,Zn-0.10,Mo-0.03,Fe-3.0,Bo-0.3. This is Part 1 of a three part regimen which I have used previously with tomatoes. I have assumed I could have used the same formula for Bell Peppers. Was I wrong here in making this assumption?

If i can see correctly, there are algea growing on the medium.
That could be the problem.
One possible solution, is to cover the medium with black plastic, to avoid light.

Hi, I have had problems like you have, and my neighbor have
any problem too. Bell pepper react different than tomatos to high N fertilizer. If you increase P and K and reduce N example: 10-30-20 will enhance your leaves, that worked for me. Now to treat thrips they recommend a sticky pad yellow in color with hormones, a very attractive combination. The use of a proctective mesh, this lining reduce thrips infestation. After a month of helping my neighbor I found the pest/ bacterial speck source, two infected trees! If you have time find/ treat the source of the problem.
