Why do those videos suggest adding the bleach?
I can only think of two reasons to add something to a germinating seed. to disinfect it. a valid reason at times. I have had seeds germinate then get taken over by molds, bacteria and what not. the other reason is to make it easier for the plant to rupture the seed hull. In that case it's generally a weak acid that basically softens the shell. and bleach is not an acid, so that doesn't make sense.
If its to disinfect the water, then bring the chlorine (from the bleach) into the range of 5 ppm

I had a problem with mold/fungi on my new germinating pepper seeds. I tossed the germinating ones in the trash, then soaked the rest of the bag of seeds in H2O2 for about 20 min. Then let them dry out again before putting them in a clean small Ziploc bag. I started a new set of seeds germinating. So far I don't see signs of fungi on the new set, though it's only been two days, and they haven't actually sprouted yet. But I'll see how well it worked soon.

I heard worm casting tea will help with this also, IDK I haven't tried it yet but I will be soon.

I know some wheat germ seeds are contaminated with e-coli.. thats the only reason I can think of for it. Gotta be a lovely taste.. yuk!!
