what happened here areogarden? problem

HI, I have a question that I got from somebody else. They have a tomato plant growing in there house (Las Vegas NEVADA) in an areo garden and something has gone very wrong. They say the roots are healthy and that there are a lot of them. So whats wrong with this plant and what should they do to save it? Thanks so much!

Gee whiz! I posted a reply yesterday and it's vanished. Well, here it is again: It looks like the leaf margins are dry and crinkly. Maybe the whole plant was left to get too dry; just a guess.

Hi daylilyfanatic,
The stem's base looks constricted.
If it preceded, or developed at time of the leaf deterioration the end result may be choking off of nutrient uptake. The abundant roots are then just an indication that the set-up is working .
Don't know what type/variety of tomato that is to suggest options.
