IMO:
Flood&Drain for leafy veggies (cabbage,chard etc)
DWC for heavy feeders (tomatoes)
passive for herbs (parsley, thyme)

IMO:
Static hydroponic culture using perlite in grow bags.

It's right up my alley; a no-brainer!

My favorite is DWC, but not everything likes that. Flood and drain is my second favorite and I want to try NFT and aeroponics but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Aeroponics in particular can be a pain, since clogged nozzles kill plants fast, and you need really good nutrients to minimize that.

I started out with ebb and flow, enjoyed it, moved to SWC, even better IMO, then did waterfall (vertical wall of roots with hyper-oxygenated water falling over the roots and back into the reservoir) and now I'm doing DWC.

I think I'm most impressed with DWC. Killer basil growth, killer root growth for the tomato clone I've just laid down (one foot in three days) and I think I might just have a bit of fun and try hydroponic dwarfed avocado trees in DWC.

Definitely show us how the avocado goes, I'd like to see one of those in hydroponics. What are you planning to use for nutrients, btw?

If you want fruit from the Avocado use grafted plant - from seed too long time required.
