Root aphids or Phylloxera

Hi,

I have a ebb n flow table with vegetables in rockwool and orchids in hydroton. I started to notice Root aphids or Phylloxera that eat or suck on roots. Nasty little things! I read up a little and they seem to be hard to erdicate completely. Yet they do seem to be damaging, more in the hydroton than rockwool cos of air spaces. They seem to girlde the roots killing them which is pretty bad! I think I can take orchids out and hit them with a stronger systemic pesticide but for the vegetables I think I need to use low toxicity pesticides. I only used pesticides in resevoir once before for springtails which I later found are a nuicanse but not harmful The pesticdes did not affect them. Here I think Neem oil, other oils, pyrethrins, Bug Buster O and others have potential but I am wondering if any of you have experience with these critters or with putting pesticides into resevoir.

Anybody have ideas on this?
