Precipitate

Calcium carbonate in the presence of Phosphorus (P) has the potential to precipitate as Ca. Phosphate & then there is waste.
The processing of Ca. carbonate into Ca. acetate is simple. I am unclear if the acetate has similar potential to bond with P.
Question: Can calcium acetate + P. precipitate as calcium phosphate?

Short answer is: Yes it can.
Long answer: Ca-phosphate comes in many forms, and their solubility (or precipitation) depends on the pH and the concentration.
(see Google: Many titles on that subject)

I love questions like this. I didn't know the answer. It was thought provoking and I looked into it further as greystoke suggested. Though the original post could easily have been answered with a google search instead of a question on this forum, others like me might not be provoked to learn more if the post wasn't made.
