Question on hydro location

We have all of our irrigation set up for raised beds under a 20x60 lean to that faces south. The actual storage under it takes up very little of that area. I want to place a dwc just under the lean to. The roof is 9 foot. If it was a a frame style gutter system I think it would be a better fit. Is it possible for a 4x 16 dwc set up to get enough light to grow in such an area?

Guess a better question might have been can I grow lettuce on the south side of a metal awning? It will not receive direct sun light.
