Strawberries ?

By now I'm sure chuck knows of my plan here. I'm gonna be growing strawberries in the vertical grow pipes in a greenhouse. I have been doing a good bit of research on strawberry plants the last few weeks. From what I gather, Somthing about your suppose to cut off the 'runners' from the mother plant. I read that u do this that and not harvest any fruit the first grow season but it will increase the second season crop yield. Can anyone shed any tidbit's they might know on strawberryies. Thanx

I'm still on my pre-season growth, and I have clipped all runners and flowers and concentrated on growth.
Now we are 6 months out of step with the N. Hemisphere and our fruiting time is Â± september. That's getting close and the plants are starting to flower left and right.
I wonder if I should stop cutting the flowers?

I don't know much about growing strawberries specifically. I'd be interested in trying it though. I was actually thinking that a vertical system would be the way to go.

How are you planning to do it oakleaf?
