Cannot germinate big seeds

Hello,

I am trying to germinate seeds in rockwool at low 300ppm deep flow. I have successfuly germinated tons of lettuce, broccoli, basil, parsley, and tomato.

I cannot for the life of me germinate any big seeds - spinach, cucumber, watermellon, beans. I had at best germinated one or two beets, okra, etc, many of which died.

any suggestions? Is room temp too cold? Is there too short of a dry period (one day)? Are the seeds worthless (2007 and 2008 seedsofchange). I want to plant coffee catura but only have 10 expensive seeds and dont want these to fail. Thanks
