I've used 1 65 watt 2700K, combined with 1 65 5000k cfl, for a total of 10,000 lumens. I used them for one pepper plant till about the fifth week and then transferd it under my HPS. While it was under the CFL's it grew fine. I used DWC also. I'm am also new to all this indoor growing but thats my 2 cents.

Thanks. I was constantly being told by people that that wouldn't be enough light but if it worked for you I can most certainly make it work for me.

Also thinking of getting this though I'm not sure if it requires a ballast or not.

You are probably aware of this, but the 68 watt bulbs are true 68 watt CFL's. On the box it gives the equivalent wattage if you were using a regular bulb, so make sure it is the right CFL and just doesn't say "as bright as a 68 watt" The watt equivalent on my box says 300.
I ordered mine from 100obulbs.com and they screw into a regular socket. I also went to home depot and bought two of the clip lamps (without the bulb for about seven dollars) and took the reflector off, and mounted them horizantaly.
