hydroponic strawberry fruiting enviroment

I plan to grow strawberries hydroponically, and have done so before, but didn't keep them long enough to see if they set fruit. I was wondering type of environment do they need to set fruit? for example do they need a rest period, or certan photoperiod? I have a summer varity that produces great berries and would like to emulate that environment to try to get 2 or 3 crops per year. I will be growing them under hid lights indoors, and should be able to reprodue any climate.

On a positive note: If you planted bare-root stock, it most likely was "pre-treated". That means the plants underwent a cold, dormant period and will produce strawberry fruit just fine.

What type of light regiment should be used for the different types of strawberries?

Short day - I would assume 12/12 or less light is needed..
Everbearing?
June berry? - 18/6??

You can easily keep twice the number of plants you require for your setup, while one set is growing/producing.. you can be chilling the other set in a fridge thus satisfying the dormancy/chilling requirement.

Rotate the stock and you should have a good turn around.
Not a truly perpetual harvest, but a quicker route than just one set of plants.
