I like miniature varieties, because they can be grown closer together and produce faster. Last spring, I grew hybrid Tom Thumb and heirloom Tennis Ball. They were a good example of the typical differences between hybrids and heirlooms. The Tom Thumb produces a more attractive and more marketable product. But the Tennis Ball tasted better. So your variety selection will depend upon if you are growing to eat or growing to sell.
