It isn't that easy to give an estimate nor a rough estimate for the nutrient cost per head of lettuce. Could you ask a more specific question and I may be able to help...

I figured its probably not the easiest question to answer. But I also hoped that if someone grows x numbers of heads per year, and spent x number of $ on nutrients, that they could then calculate a rough estimate on cost of nutrients per head based on that. I'm sure amount of nutrients utilized may vary based on various conditions, but perhaps an average could be established.

Well....Here is a snippet from my budget forecast sales projections that may help you..
I am set to grow 41,760 heads of lettuce this year of different types-
For this growhouse I have these as my 'needed costs' to be successful:
About 500$ for General Hydroponics Maxigrow at wholesale cost.
About 400$ for PH up
About 500$ for PH down
380$ for Oxidizer
244$ for Azatrol (These are all wholesale btw) (aka Azadactin/Azamax) Its a biological pesticide.
174.64$ for Spinosad ( another biological)
and $218 for Bravo Weather Stik AG (biological fungicide)

These are all the costs I am making this year to produce that much lettuce. Maybe you don't need all that for your smaller production? Either way hopefully that will give you some insight. I spent a good 5 months preparing my budget so I will let you do the math. ;)
