Hydroponic questions(outdoors)

Hey, I'm a little new to hydroponics and wondering a few things about an outdoor setup.

-NFT or DWC?
Which would be better for an outdoor environment and easier to deal with when mother nature takes a toll?

-How do you power your outdoor hydroponics setup?
Generator, Run an extention cord outside, solar panels....?

And can anyone help me find some design blue prints and pricing so i can get an idea of what is also more cost efficient?

I use both NFT and DWC outdoors. I run an extension from the garage for
the pumps. I do tomatoes in DWC because they have a big root system. I use NFT for lettuce and strawberries. You can find a lot of videos on Youtube showing many different designs. If power is a problem you could look into Kratky method.

Hi Dave73 I agree with your comments I tend to grow my tomatoes in a DWC, but for lettuce I use the Kratky method very successfully , with DWC when I get too many seedlings for the Kratky method.
As for strawberries I agree the NFT is the way to go tried DWC which was not a success.
