Been a week now since I dropped seed into my Hydroponics system. I didn't start the seed in rockwool or paper towels, I just dropped them where I thought they should grow and every couple of days I would wet the Hydroton from the top. I see little green heads popping up from the Snap Pea and Cherry Tomato plants already. Within the next couple of days I should see the rest of the plants, 2 each of Snap Pea, 10's of 1000's cherry tomato and red bell pepper that I bought at the store. I have not seen a sprout from the red bell pepper so I am not sure it will grow. I put 3 more seeds in a wet paper towel to ensure sprouting (unless the seeds are terminator seeds) if the 2 I dropped in didn't take.
Going to be interesting to see if I have enough headroom for these plants to grow. When they reach the light my only option will be to lower the plant so that the bottom hangs over the edge of the grow bed. I plan on training the plants up a guide string like I do with indeterminate tomato plants but these plants my turn out to be bush type plants and this idea will not work. I'll just have to find out out the hard way. I plan on making a video and uploading it here in the next couple of days, I will try to figure out how to post a link here to it along with some pics.
