If the bubbles are providing enough humidity (stems are dripping) and you have got something like half strength nutrient inside that cloner, you basically didn't do anything wrong, at least technically speaking.

BUT: some species build roots from clones much quicker and easier than others. Some do better and quicker if simply put in a small cup of water, others do better in soil. From my experience nothing beats a simple rockwool cube that is kept wet with half strength nutrient. A clone that will not take roots in a small rockwool cube, will probably not in this life. Ambient temperature, season, (spring is best and blooming season or winter worst) general health of the mother plant and other conditions also play.

Btw: Did you make a few incisions with a sterilized scalpel near the cuts, to encourage roots to sprout from there? Are the cuts made in 45° and (even the tips) still looking Ok and firm, or are they starting to get soft and rot slowly?

you should spray the leaves with a weak nutrient solution as they have no other means of getting any nutrients until the roots start to emerge. This will also limit transpiration by keeping the humidity high around the leaves.
Also, leland cypress is known to be particularly difficult to clone. I am not sure about the others.
