I would assume they both are adequate. I've never used the criss cross type but will note the slits will deform if a root larger than the opening grows through it. Not sure how the criss cross would handle that.

grizzman - Thanks for getting back to me with your input. I only need to buy a couple of dozen but want to get the right ones from the start.

I doubt either would prove a bad choice. I did just now notice the lip at the top of the netpot. the criss cross one looks like it will sit about 1/4" (maybe less) higher than the slitted one. I don't know if that helps you choose.

grizzman - Wow, I didn't even notice that. Thanks for pointing it out. I am making my own hydro system for cloning. I have the container, pump, and tubing etc. I thought I should get the cups before I made the holes. I am not sure which is better, sitting up higher or lower. Have to think about it.
