Here is a list of 349 exciting plants, mostly flowers, that can be grown hydroponically in addition to a site which I think is as helpful as they get without growing the plants for you.

As for hydroponic trees, Google is your best friend. Google the Hanging Gardens (An Original Ancient Wonder of the World). Maybe you will find some text by someone like Pliny the Elder, or an earlier Greek who identified some of the trees in this marvelous, nearly mythic hydroponic garden.
