Frost on my tomatoes June 16

We had a cold day on Wednesday. I had frost on my roof in Meridian on June 16. One (of three) of the varieties of tomatoes and one of the pepper varieties showed frost damage.

Really? I didn't notice any frost, but then again, I wasn't looking for any... it is nearly July! I went to Accuweather an they show a low of 40, so I guess it is is possible that some locations had frost. I usually see light frost if it gets below about 37 or 38 degrees.

Hi backyardener. I have a neighbor to the east of me who has an acre yard full of mature trees. The result is that I have frost in my yard when they are reporting overnight lows of 38 degrees at the airport. Only at the Northwestern corner of my acre place do I avoid frost, so I'm starting to make garden beds in that area.

I intended to transplant my strawberries from the west end of my yard to the eastern end, but life has been a bit of an adventure lately, so that's been delayed.
