An old timey annual flower that's reliable and easy to grow

Children love the spring-loaded seed pods of all impatiens species. Here's a plant with large seeds, that germinates well and makes a good show of flowers, a very nice annual filler in the perennial garden. A good plant for beginning gardeners. Self-sowing.

What a lovely color! I have a shrimp-pink one that I let reseed everywhere as it's so cheerful.
