| I have tiny (.25 to .5 mm) translucent crystals on the stems of the leaves and leaf margins of my impatiens. I don't know the variety, I just grow these and noticed the crystals today. They crush like sugar crystals, dissolve in water, but do not have a taste that I can sense (bio major with no sense). Suggestions? |

| Often when Imps get a bit too much water they release it through little necturies around the leaves. You are right they do have some sugar in them and ants seem to like them. It does not mean that you are over watering though. Its completly natural |
