Can Impatiens be kept under lights the whole time?

Hello, does anybody know if I can keep my impatiens under lights until they are transplanted may 25? Right now I have the newly germinated seedlings(2-flats) under 4-tubes of the cool fluorescent lights. I hope to keep them short and stocky for the garden yet I don't know if impatiens react negatively to that much light!
All I can say is it seems so far so good. Thanks for your help!
Oh and also when should I fertilize impatiens and with what?? |

| The closer they are to the lights the stocky they will be. Lack of light makes them stretch and become leggy. |
