I njust got a pot of trailing impatiens. I took 3 inch starts dipped in root ing powder. Stuck them in water and vermickulite. They dryed up in the leaves and top stem in 2 days.I still have them in the jar hoping somthing is happening. And I have a greenhouse that is going to go to 40 degrees for the next 2 days. Is that to co
ld for the potted plants? Thanks for your help

RE: starts will not root

Are you sure you do not drown them ?

I always root my impatiens in well draining potting soil. I have poor results rooting impatiens in water.

Usually, 65-70F is best for rooting impatiens.
