Here is a picture of my new guinea impatiens that I just bought yesterday:

I haven't planted them in the ground yet, because I had a question about cold tolerance before I did. I know from the last time I planted another variety that they aren't very forgiving when it comes to cold, so I have a set of those in my house waiting to be planted. Since these are a different strain, are there more cold tolerant and can they be planted now?

No these are really less cold tolerant then the typical bedding. NGs are mostly use as pot plants but they are coming out with some hybids that will take garden sites, some with full sun. These are called Fanfare and Sunpatiens.

RE: New Guinea Impatiens Question (with pic)

I have a New Guinea Impatiens on my covered porch and it has been beautiful so far this season. I have had it for about 6-8 weeks. It had beautiful blooms but in the last 2 weeks it has not had any blooms. I am watering it regularly and the leaves are still very pretty. I wondered if it wasn't getting enough sun or maybe it needs to be fertilized. Any suggestions?
