Identification of Impatiens glandulifera alba seedling

Hi,

I got a few seeds for the rare Impatiens glandulifera alba (somtimes called Impatiens glandulifera candida) in a trade last year. They have started to germinate and there seems to be a pinkish tint to the stems and axils. Is this normal for the white form or should the seelings be a pure green. I guess what I am asking is did I get what I traded for or just the regular pink form ?

Thank you in advance !

The form Candida should not have any red in the stem. It is possible that it could have crossed with a different color form. The is a white spotted form as well but it does have a faint blush of pink in it.

Since I posted this message, I got an email from the member I traded with and she assures me that the seeds come from a garden where only the white form is grown... I guess I will just have to wait and see what color they turn out to be.

I have the pink one and it is now just forming some buds so it will bloom sometime soon. Is your white one now blooming or just about to too?
Hope it turns out whitish for you. I am qurious to know.

I am currently growing both the pink and the white, but my white plant is MUCH more robust than the pink one. I started collecting seeds from the white; I have a lot if you are interested.
