 o
impatiens spread! how much to plant?

Posted by amy9252 NY (My Page) on

I am a new gardener and was recommended to purchase impatiens for their growth potential and beauty. I have a garden spot that is 10 ft by 3 1/2 ft and I am wondering how many individual stems would suffice. I already purchased 36 stems but that doesn't seem to be enough. They look so small in the garden. Please help!
Also, new guinea impatiens.. full sun or no sun?

New Guineas are more sun tolerant than wallerianas but I would never plant them in full sun. They can manage in little to part sun (maybe 4-5 hours max, preferably in the AM). The more sun you give them, the more water they need.
