I have visited several sites that say that there is no such thing as a yellow impatient, but I beg to differ I have one well now I have several because I rooted more of them. But I do know that they are very very rare.

In all fairness to others here, the yellow impatien is a relatively new cultivar and they may not have heard of it. It has only been on the market a short while and is not commonly stocked in nurseries. I would have said the same thing last year until I saw one. It is a separate variety and color, that can only be started from cuttings. I grow my Impatiens from seed, mainly because I got tired of fighting spider mites.

Consider yourself lucky you have one and don't put others down because they have never heard of it. I pray the spider mites stay away from your plant

I agree. Yellow impatiens are relatively new. I have been growing mine for several years and making new cuttings every so often. I think the name of mine is "fusion". It is a canary yellow with an orange eye.

RE: Yellow Impatiens

My mom and I found a lone yellow impatien put in the middle of a bunch of red ones yesterday at a favorite nursery of mine and bought it. I told her I would take a few cuttings from it and she could take the mother plant back home to Michigan with her. I hope I can get them to root. I have never seen a yellow impatien before. I've read they are easy to root, much like a coleus, which are easy for me.
