Gardening novice having trouble with new impatiens (pics)

I acquired four impatiens (Impatiens walleriana 'Stardust Violet') from a nursery one to two weeks ago, and from that time forward, they had lost not only all of their blooms and buds, but had lost some of their leaves. I've probably made many newbie mistakes, so please bear with me.

The leaves, flowers, and buds seemed to shrivel before they fell off (or I pinched them off). Right now, the tips of many of the leaves look shriveled. One troublesome plant has lost most of its foilage, and developed a yellow spot on one of its leaves.

The soil I'm using is Scotts Premium Potting Soil, which has some fertilizer in it (enough for four months' worth of feeding). I learned that impatiens don't need to be fertilized often, and that overdoing it can eventually kill them, so I'm curious as to whether some of my plants are suffering from too much fertilizer.

Help would be greatly appreciated! Below are images of three of the plants.
