I think Pine needles are killing my impatiens!! Help!!

We are in a new house and I planted a row of impatiens along my driveway this year. They are under pine trees and the pine needles have just finished falling (I hate them!!).
The impatiens do not look so good. The stems are yellowing. Could the pine needles be killing them and what do I do?? Thanks a million!!

The soil might be to acidic for that spot you might want to try a different location.

UUnder a pine tree sounds like a horrible spot for Impatiens, very dry. Other than yellow stems, what is wrong with your plants?
