Growing Impatien Seeds

Every year I purchase impatiens for around the house. I had considered for next year buying impatiens seeds and going that route as a way to save some money. My question though is it worth the work to do that in a effort to save some money or is it easier to just spend the money at the nursery and buy them already grown? Also, are there varieties of impatiens that do better in the direct sun? I have some that get blasted pretty good in the afternoon and they have a tendency to wilt until I get water on them. If I decide to buy seeds, where is a recommended place to get them?
